Panways Ghana signs joint venture agreement with two European commodity companies

Panways Partnership

Panways Ghana has signed a joint venture agreement with Sapori Dicasa and Fidtrade SA of Italy and Lugano Switzerland to process organic products.

Based in Takoradi, the new venture, dubbed ‘Panways Made in Nature’, aims to distribute to Whole Foods Market, Vitamin Cottage and independent grocers in Western and local markets.

Mr. Patrick Kwesie, the Managing Partner of Panways Ghana and Dr. Luigi Brescia, Chairman of the Panways Group, represented the Panways Ghana, while the Sapori Dicasa was represented by a renowned food processing technologist, Dr. Claudio Lacoponi with Professor Maurizio Zadra, representing Fidtrade SA from Lugano Switzerland.

Fidtrade SA of Lugano, Switzerland is a global commodity company experienced in organic food engineering in Western and Eastern Europe.

Organic Foods would launch products under the Sapori Dicasa, Fidtrade SA and Panways Made in Nature brands such as organic cocoa, coconut, chilli, sunflower cultivation and tropical fruit and vegetable processing.

With a global industry presence and knowledge of raw, organic, vegan and gluten-free product varieties for human consumption, Kwesie said the partnership would position Panways Made in
Nature to expand its offering of ready-to-eat organic products in global markets, particularly Europe.

He said plans are well advanced to set up a cocoa and coconut processing factory in Jomoro Municipality to develop and integrate organic farming practices to small and medium farmers for the national development through the government’s One District, One Factory project.

For him, the joint venture would create jobs in various ways in agriculture, retail and export.

“We pray for continued support from the government to increase the development of the country. The team has created amazing products that stand out. My youthful exuberance and entrepreneurial drive will help us market fresh produce,” he said.

Mr Kwesie said that in addition to dried fruit, the company was looking to produce organic frozen pizza, a product that contained no sulphur, artificial or bio-engineered ingredients, or refined sugar.

Additionally, he said Panways Made in Nature would introduce cocoa chips and coconut chips to stores.
“Our product lines are so complementary; they’re organic, made with real foods, and are nutritionally dense while being irresistibly delicious.”
